When you come to Ashland, we want your focus to be solely on being a student. Before you even come to visit campus for the first time, our team will work to determine if you qualify for any special benefits. During your campus visit, we'll give you a tour, show you around The Jack, our dedicated Military & Veteran Resource Center, and help you navigate the daily details of college life—housing, finances, meals, meeting faculty and scheduling classes.

When I first started at Ashland University, I came in with very little information about what to do, where to go and how to be successful as a student. But as a veteran student at Ashland University, you’ll enjoy many benefits, including having Randy Spade and his team at your side to help you through your journey. He doesn’t get nearly enough appreciation for the help he offers those transitioning from military service and their families. Once you’re here, you’ll understand why Ashland University is such a great place for military-connected students. "

But, once I discovered the Office of Military & Veterans Services on campus, I didn’t even consider going anywhere else. Any time I need to get something done outside of my skill or knowledge set, Randy Spade and Chelsea Weiler are immediately there to take care of it. I started attending Ashland during the Spring 2020 semester and made an instant connection with other veterans who understood my struggles and what transitioning to college entails. Even a global pandemic couldn’t stop the outstanding support I received from the staff and fellow veterans. On top of it all, now we have a fantastic new building where all veteran students can gather and feel welcome and understood."

In recognition of our continuing investment in military-connected students and their families on campus, Ashland University is an honored recipient of the Collegiate Purple Star. This award recognizes schools that show a significant commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. To receive this designation, schools must have a dedicated military/veteran point of contact or office, offer priority registration for veteran and servicemembers, stay attuned to the needs of military-connected students and their families and provide the foundation for student-led military-connected groups and organizations.
