Ashland University is an Equal Opportunity/Equal Access Institution
The steepest hill to climb for guardsmen transitioning to college is obtaining the benefits you qualify for. That’s why we’ve committed to doing all the heavy lifting for you.
From your first contact with a member of our team, we determine which GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program benefits you’re eligible for and begin the application process.
The Yellow Ribbon Program helps cover costs for out-of-state and/or private undergraduate tuition not covered by the GI Bill. Whereas many private schools honor some portion of the Yellow Ribbon Program and only for a limited number of students per year, Ashland is one of the only private universities in America to pledge maximum coverage for as many undergraduate students who qualify. But even in (the very, very rare) cases where these programs aren’t relevant or don’t cover everything, we will find other resources available to help with your tuition expenses.

The transition from life in the National Guard to college can be challenging. That’s why we’re here for you, step by step, from your initial interaction on.
When you come to Ashland, we want your focus to be solely on being a student. Before you even come to visit campus for the first time, we’ve already determined which specific benefits you qualify for. During your campus visit, we’ll give you a tour, show you around The Jack, our dedicated Military & Veteran Resource Center, and help you navigate the daily details of college life—housing, finances, meals, meeting faculty, scheduling classes, partnering with other veterans who can advise you on any details you may have questions about and so much more!
Our plan moves you toward success, step by step, and allows you to focus on what’s most important during this next season of your life. Whether you are taking classes in-person on campus, online, or a hybrid of the two, we’re with you at every point.
Designed for exclusive military-connected and veteran student use, The Jack W. Liebert Military & Veteran Resource Center is your hub for everything you need as a military-connected student on campus. Housing everything from Military Student Service offices to a USO-style lounge and communal spaces designed to bring students like you together, The Jack gives you access to everything you need to transition successfully into college life and equip yourself for a successful future.
One of the few places like it in the nation, The Jack gives you a place to hang out with other military-connected students, study or just set up basecamp for the day. You’ll feel right at home from the moment you step through the front door.
From Ohio’s premier Nursing college to an award-winning Criminal Justice program, Ashland University’s degree tracks are focused on affordability, individual attention, mentor relationships, internship opportunities and a lifelong commitment to your success.
